The Wills Group is seeking a talented team member with a customer-service mindset to join our Environmental Services Department as a Senior Environmental Compliance and Maintenance Coordinator.

The Senior Environmental Compliance and Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for the effective management of corporate compliance, maintenance services, and replacement capital.
This position ensures that all TWGI owned petroleum systems remain in compliance with all applicable regulations and laws and remains fully functional.
The incumbent will supervise all maintenance needed for the proper operation of the company s physical facilities and support all services in support of their continuous operation.
Compliance:
The incumbent maintains all company underground storage tank system records, including developing and maintaining the necessary databases and files relating to the petroleum systems.
Additional responsibilities include ensuring that all petroleum systems are in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, and that all third-party testing is completed according to required schedules.
This also includes all third-party release detection systems and software systems, tank & line testing, and other as required) are monitored and maintained.
The incumbent must be knowledgeable of current petroleum system laws and regulations.
This position is also responsible for identification, development, and implementation of new technology as it relates to our UST systems.
This includes new leak detection systems and software, testing technology, and other related systems.
Maintenance :
The incumbent is responsible for major maintenance work at company facilities.
This includes coordinating with marketing personnel to verify the scope of work is properly identified, developing the proper scope of work, reviewing bids and proposals, selecting, tracking, and supervising outside vendors and contractors, and minimizing the adverse impact of the work on customers and sales.
This position will ensure that all contractors are qualified to perform the requested work and will follow up to make sure any work performed is completed to proper specifications.
The incumbent will also administer and manage all monthly maintenance contracts (ie:
HVAC, food/refrigerated equipment, and petroleum equipment maintenance contracts).
Equipment and Service Procurement :
The incumbent coordinates and manages purchasing of equipment as needed for the company facilities.
This would include store and petroleum equipment for capital as required.
They coordinate with marketing personnel, the Construction Project Manager, and the Engineering Manager as necessary.
This position is also responsible for providing creative solutions for the procurement of store utilities needs by analysing opportunities for cost savings in the marketplace.
This includes purchasing consolidated electrical power supply contract, waste management services, and other related utilities.
Other Accountabilities :
Maintenance Contracts:
The incumbent negotiates, coordinates, supervises, and issues service contracts to equipment maintenance vendors as recommended by the Manager of Maintenance & Compliance.
This includes monthly petroleum equipment maintenance contracts and store equipment service contracts.
Construction Project Support :
The incumbent provides support for all major capital construction/remodelling projects as required.
This includes coordinating with the Construction Project Manager and the Manager of Engineering to assist with EPOS, network communication, petroleum equipment start up, and other related items.
Expense Budgets :
The incumbent provides yearly budget plans for the fixed-variable expenses related to environmental compliance, UST testing, equipment maintenance, and general retail repairs.
This position is responsible to track and analyse variations in the actual expenses versus the plan.
It is critical to communicate all budget related issues and provide suggestions to the BUE s.
Technology :
A key responsibility is to make recommendations for improvement in company practices and programs, so as to ensure that the company meets all environmental compliance standards.
As part of this responsibility, the incumbent communicates on new developments in this field, and assists in training of personnel on environmental matters.
Special Projects :
The incumbent will support, analyse, and recommend solutions critical to the success of special projects.
These types of projects include acquisitions, system wide technology updates (ie PCI, EPOS updates, etc.
), product changes (ie ULSD, E-10, etc.
), and other industry related requirements.
Contractor Management :
Recommends solid, reputable, contractors/vendors who perform quality, timely, and cost-effective work on corporate maintenance and compliance.
The incumbent will evaluate the contractor s performance to ensure the company receives the best performance for the best cost.
Environmental Compliance Management :
Organizes and manages all environmental compliance matters for company facilities.
This includes managing the storage tank database and the UST system testing requirements.
Industry Networking :
The incumbent represents TWGI at industry committees and participates in industry related organizations in order to research best practices.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensures company compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations and guidelines.
They will also design corporate policy recommendations as required.
Undergraduate Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Environmental Science, Industrial Management, or related degree in Technical or Environmental Discipline At least 2 years experience Environmental Management, Retail and/or Commercial Facility Maintenance Management Maintenance Software Experience Preferred Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects MDE Inspector s Certification, Underground Storage Tank Operator A/B Certification, OSHA 30 Certifications, preferred.
On the job training may be provided to qualified candidate to achieve above certificates.
Weekend or evening work may be required depending on regulatory or time sensitive internal issues.
Overnight travel is occasionally required.
This position requires technical knowledge of food service equipment, as well as mechanical and refrigeration systems utilized in convenience store environments.
The incumbent maintains current technical knowledge of petroleum equipment, building and fire codes and specifications, and facility equipment, environmental regulations, compliance requirements, local health department regulations, stormwater management, etc.
The incumbent is responsible for major maintenance/rehab work and other special projects required at company facilities.
They coordinate with marketing personnel to ensure the scope of work is properly identified.
Further, seeks to minimize the adverse impact of the work on customers and sales.
Works with and interacts with state/federal environmental regulatory community.
