Job Details:
Responsible for billing and following up on assigned claims as assigned. Responsible for rebills and secondary billing of assigned claims. Responsible for following up on all correspondence, EOB/remits, rejections and denials. Responsible for contacting insurance companies on status of claims and documenting the system with notes appropriately.
Education &
Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
A minimum two (2) years of experience in billing in a hospital environment required.
Knowledge of UB92 billing requirements i.e. 8371.
Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
Demonstrated knowledge of electronic hospital billing.
Demonstrated knowledge of third party payers, collection laws and collection procedures.
Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA.
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Demonstrated ability to effectively evaluate complex systems/processes, develop a course of action and follow through to resolution.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form with patients, health system personnel and the general public is essential.
Demonstrated basic math skills.
Licensure & Certification:
CPAT preferred.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
